Peter Craig 1931- 2005 Died aged 74. Hucknall. Nottingham.
Died after a long battle with illness.
Peter was born in Drogheda' co louth. He attended the local school, Saint Marys. After leaving
school Peter took up the career of being a Butcher. Peter felt that he could do better if he moved
to England. He finally decided to make the move and came to Birmingham. In 1955 work brought him to
Nottingham where he meet Janet. By this time peter had found work in the construction industry.
Peter and Janet were blessed with a lovely family of 3 sons and 3 daughters, Peter, John, Teresa,
Janet, Christine and David. In his free time he enjoyed many sports but especially Pigeon racing and
Dog racing. He also knew a thing or two about horse racing and enjoyed having the occasional
flutter. Working all his life with his hands, small wonder that he enjoyed his time in the garden.
He was born near the coast in Ireland and in latter years paid a visit to the coast here in England
which became a pleasent day out. Peter adored his 21 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. He
will be remembered for many things but maybe his friendshipwill stand out for a host of people. He
loved to have a chat with people passing by and they loved him for it. May this loveable and gentle
giant be rewarded with eternal happiness in Heaven. My He rest in Peace.
As one of his many grandchildren he meant to world to me and i know that on behalf of all of us the
same could be said. He was a massive part in all our lives growing up and always had a smile and a
kind word for everyone. With a pack of polo's in his pocket. Rest in peace Grandad. x
